LeaderTelecom attended “Mobile 360 - Privacy & Security”, a conference dedicated to data security
The Netherlands is the largest digital gateway to Europe with a developed infrastructure and an abundance of technological nodes. It is in The Netherlands that almost all of the important IT developments are concentrated, in sectors such as finance, health and security. There are many large IT events and activities held and countless companies have their offices and headquarters here - KPN, Huawei, ZTE, T-Mobile, AT & T, Nokia, Russoft, TNO, Vimpelcom, Kaspersky Lab, etc. The country has created good conditions for the opening of the start-ups and the implementation of various innovations.
In the Netherlands a specialized conference, “Mobile 360 - Privacy & Security”, was held which is dedicated to online security. The event presented information about the current state of cybersecurity and data privacy, combining presentations by famous speakers who discussed various issues and demonstrated modern technologies, as well as in-depth case studies. All of this allowed the attendees to form an accurate picture of the privacy and security data used worldwide.
LeaderTelecom visited the event “Mobile 360 - Privacy & Security” and on the first day of the event there was an interesting presentation called “Protecting Your Data And Your Employees”, which was attended by speakers from the companies Lookout, Zimperium and others.
The report by Gert-Jan Schenk from Lookout was devoted to teaching users about security when working with mobile devices. The displaying of notifications have very little effect on the users - they simply close all warnings. They found that instead of such persistent notifications, “attack” is best to teach users the basics of security when working with different applications.
Michiel Kemperman from Zimperium touched on issues of hacking devices running on iOS. As evidence shows, iOS devices are hacked into quite actively. In 2015 it was found that iOS was more vulnerable to hacking than Android.
It is also important to mention the discussion of privacy on the web. Matt Anderer from AMDP Americas raised an interesting question about the collection of user data by large corporations and social networks.
The second day of the conference was full of interesting presentations of speakers from different companies.
Alexander Glaus (Deutsche Bank)
Alexander Glaus from Deutsche Bank spoke about the important factors of risk management in the IT sector. He also touched on the challenges faced by modern organizations:
- Increased control: MaRisk
- Increasing legal requirements: Secure Pay Guidelines & PSD II
- Changes in the market: FinTech
- New technology: Cloud, blockchain etc.

James Hatch (BAE Systems Applied Intelligence)
James Hatch from BAE Systems Applied Intelligence spoke about the importance of a rational approach to the elimination of breaks. People often act very emotionally meaning that many aspects sometimes fail to be considered. Good planning is a way to avoid such emotional chaos.
Dirk Kollberg from the company Kaspersky Labs, made a presentation about the current distribution of hacks. Many companies and users usually only discover that hacking has taken place after several months of it occurring. We are not careful enough about the updates downloaded by our applications, or installed on our mobile phones and it is possible that they could contain a variety of vulnerabilities. It is important to always ensure that we are aware of our security and that we build reliable protection.
“Mobile 360 - Privacy & Security” has been very versatile and useful for us, giving a wealth of information from different areas related to security. We thank the organizers of this event for the warm welcome and friendly atmosphere!
The Hague - a paradise for IT business
Many major international companies have their offices in The Hague. This is largely due to the fact that the Netherlands offers a favourable tax regime aimed at attracting investment. Another important benefit of doing business in the Netherlands is the geographical location of the country - the Netherlands is often used as a convenient base to cover several European markets. In The Hague there is a concentrated cluster of innovative telecommunication and security companies.
The Dutch government is focussed on attracting business and provides a solid foundation for building investments. The government is actively cooperating with real businesses and seeking feedback from it. The collaboration between IT companies and public authorities is very flexible. A distinctive feature of business in the Netherlands is the simplicity of export services and products around the world.
The Hague is the centre of innovation and as such, LeaderTelecom chose The Hague, because this city offers huge opportunities to sell SSL certificates and other related products. Numerous conferences, seminars, and other IT based events allow you to remain at the centre of technological progress.
Hague Security Delta (HSD), the largest cluster of security in Europe and a partner of LeaderTelecom is located in The Hague. The HSD Campus regularly holds events called “HSD Café” in which they cover a wide range of topics ranging from online security to the creation of a critical infrastructure. The HSD Café meetings are attended by representatives of business, government and educational institutions. After the events, company representatives can meet in an informal setting and establish new business contacts.
The Hague is also the centre of the telecoms industry. LeaderTelecom partners are the telecoms operators providing the SSL certificates to its customers which is another benefit of opening the company's office in The Hague. Finally, it is worth noting that The Hague has an extensive Russian-speaking IT community, which is helpful to start-ups. In order to profitably invest your money, you can contact the WestHolland Foreign Investment Agency (WFIA), which provides advice on the transfer of business to The Hague.
